I would like to introduce you to the Casper Professional Firefighters Pipes and Drums.

They are an 11 piece band with 10 of our own Casper Firefighters and one Honorary Member. Back in 2008, two Casper Firefighters picked up bagpipes as an addition to the Fire Department Honor Guard. Paul Marquard, has twenty years of piping, he was the instructor.

The Casper Professional Firefighters Pipes and Drums consist of 6 bagpipes and a five piece drum line. They've performed at several Memorial Services around the State.

Since 2012, the band has had members in nearly 40 Memorial Services around Wyoming. These include retired firefighters who have passed on, civilian services and even a full Honors Military Service.

These men and women also provide services on an annual basis. Our Local Veterans Group, the 9-11 Memorials, the Fallen Firefighters Memorial in Riverton, the Central Wyoming Fair and Rodeo and our annual Christmas parade has been graced with their presence.

The Casper Professional Firefighters Pipes and Drums are funded solely by the band, through donations and fundraising events. They have no funding from the City so, they continue their fundraising events.

Each member of the band has put forth the expenses for their own instruments. On average each member has close to $1500 invested in their own equipment. Through fundraising over the last couple of years we were able to outfit each member with a low end uniform for an official look when we perform. Our future goal is to be able to outfit all members with a quality, “Class A” uniform. It is estimated, to outfit the entire band with this quality uniform it will cost nearly $13,000. This uniform upgrade is now becoming a priority, due to the wear and tear on the older pieces.

If you would like to support our Casper Professional Firefighters Pipes and Drums, you can do so here. They also have merchandise, which can be purchased through pay-pal at their online store.

Here are some events to keep in mind throughout the year.

Our fundraising activities include:

Our Annual Kilts and Collars Fireman’s Ball: Raffle and Silent Auction

Our Annual St Paddy’s Day Pub-Crawl around Casper Establishments

St Paddy’s Day festivities in Deadwood

Annual Keyhole Outdoor Living Firefighter Cook-Off

Sales of our collectible merchandise: T-shirts, Pint Glasses, Challenge Coins, Party Scarfs, decals and patches.

At the moment our fundraising allows us to put on our Fireman’s Ball, replace any worn out uniform and instrument supplies, replenish any merchandise and allow for minor travel expenses. Again our immediate future goal is to upgrade the uniform to a high quality more official piece and continue to add to the expense account for travel.

We are now in the midst of our busy spring tour. This Thursday March 17th, we will be doing our St Paddy’s Pub-Crawl at a couple local establishments. Saturday March 19th we will travel to Deadwood for the largest St Paddy’s Day Festival in the Region, and April 2nd is the Wyoming Fallen Firefighters Memorial in Riverton. We have also committed to assisting the Cheyenne Firefighters with their Fireman’s Ball on Saturday June 4th.

Enjoy your Casper Professional Firefighters Pipes and Drums.
