Tenacious D

Voters for the "prestigious" awards ceremony have bypassed legit metal bands to award the Best Metal Performance trophy to comedy act Tenacious D.

If there were any doubts that the Foo Fighters are the biggest band in the world right now, Dave Grohl and company put them to rest last night (Jan. 10).

The nominees for the 57th annual Grammy Awards were announced Friday, with Anthrax, Mastodon, Motorhead, Slipknot and Tenacious D earning metal nods.

Tenacious D have just announced the lineup for their 2014 annual Festival Supreme, and it's a great one if you like both music and comedy.

Actor Jack Black and Kyle Gass brought their comedy meets rock band hybrid Tenacious D to the House of Blues at the Mandalay Bay resort in Las Vegas, Nev. over the weekend (July 28). However, it was anything but laughs after a fight broke out in the crowd leaving one concert-goer the victim of a stabbing.

Although Jack Black has been doing plenty of non-Tenacious D things lately (starring in Gulliver’s Travels, teaming up with Jason Segel for a remake of “Peace on Earth/Little Drummer Boy”), he assures fans that there’s more music to come from “The D.” He said that he and musical partner Kyle Gass have a new album in store.
