A little rain and a cold snap knocked fire danger down in the high country late June — but forecasters say don't get too comfortable, it'll creep back up within a couple of weeks.
Back in 1962 floodwaters filled downtown Casper Wyoming to the point that a couple of young men were able to float through the middle of town on a blowup raft.
The National Weather Service reports that although there will likely be warmer, dry days in the coming weeks, it is likely that cooler, wetter weather conditions will persist a little for a little while longer.
"This is great news for keeping fire weather at bay, but the threat of severe flooding continues."
