After recently announcing that they would be releasing their fourth album in 2013, the members of Alter Bridge have now started working on the new disc.

Mark Tremonti will kick off 2013 in much the same way he ended 2012 -- fronting his "solo" band. Tremonti has received plenty of positive feedback for his 'All I Was' album and he's announced plans to continue touring overseas in early February, followed by a handful of new North American dates in late February and early March.

Guitar great Mark Tremonti may have spent a good amount of 2012 engrossed in supporting his first solo album, but it looks like 2013 is all systems go for Alter Bridge.

Wolfgang Van Halen was definitely thrown into the fire, being called upon to play bass for Tremonti a day before the band’s first show of their fall tour, but it looks like things are working out so well that his involvement will continue beyond their current trek.

Who’s ready to shred? Tremonti have released a new video for ‘So You’re Afraid,’ the follow-up single to ‘You Waste Your Time.’  The live video footage was recorded at Groovemaster Studios in Chicago, Ill., showing the band in a pretty laid back atmosphere allowing the music to take center stage.

Mark Tremonti is finding that something that was supposed to be fun and show his growth is turning into something more than he ever imagined. The Creed and Alter Bridge guitarist tells Guitar International that the early response to his ‘All I Was‘ solo album has gone beyond his wildest dreams.
