Lita Ford

While there are plenty of women in hard rock today, they definitely owe a bit of gratitude to The Runaways. The band arrived on the scene with their 1976 self-titled debut and despite their young age and gender, both of which presented barriers at the time, they went toe-to-toe with many of the male-driven acts of the day.

'That Metal Show' will lean a little more on the classic rock side this week as Foreigner's Mick Jones and Mountain guitar great Leslie West will join Eddie Trunk, Don Jamieson and Jim Florentine for interviews. Meanwhile, Lita Ford will lay down some blistering licks as the special music guest.

Former Runaways members Lita Ford and Cherie Currie played together for the first time in more than 30 years this past October. Most recently (Jan. 9), the two reprised their performance of 'Cherry Bomb' at Ford's headlining show at the Whisky A Go Go in West Hollywood, Calif., and this time they were joined by Slash (watch above).

Rock legend Lita Ford has been a professional musician since the age of 16, when she became a part of the Runaways. Having dedicated nearly four decades to the music business, anyone would have a phenomenal stockpile of crazy stories, and Lita Ford told us one of her favorites during an exclusive video interview.

After her 2012 album 'Living Like a Runaway' was very well received, Lita Ford returns with the concert album 'The Bitch is Back...Live,' due to be released Oct. 22 in North America.
