Pacheco, who represents Ward 3, was first elected to Casper’s City Council in 2014 and has been re-elected two times.

City Council proposals would limit the number of days one can legally camp on private property. It also seeks to prohibit camping near the North Platte River and other streams in Casper.

Council member and Realtor Lisa Engebretsen said people can buy houses with old electrical systems, but an inspector will inspect it based on current codes.

The Council has indicated it wished to fund organizations that supplement a city service or facility, or addresses a Council goal.

Mayor Ray Pacheco said the Casper City Council looks forward to working with Eric Nelson as City Attorney.

The two new businesses would employ roughly 50 people.

The new council member representing east Casper replaces Chris Walsh who resigned in July.

Four of the candidates have served on Casper City Council before.

To qualify, you must be a registered voter in Natrona County, and have been a resident of Ward III since at least July 10, 2018.

Walsh, the former Casper Police Chief, was elected in November 2016 and was sworn in the following January.

Professionally-produced fireworks displays are allowed at certain events, such as the July 4th show at the Casper Events Center.

Casper City Council member Shawn Johnson had to persuade a resident who planned a protest with pit bull owners that no such ban was being discussed.
