If there’s one thing to say about the Black Keys‘ Patrick Carney, he doesn’t pull punches when talking about other bands. In a new interview, the ever-candid drummer gives an outline for the Akron, Ohio, duo’s next album and slams “reunion tours” that have missing pieces, specifically Black Sabbath and Van Halen.

After years of holding out, the Black Keys finally saw the benefits of commercial usage when their single ‘Tighten Up’ blew up after being featured in a number of TV ads. But just because they said okay once before does not mean it’s a free-for-all, and the group is now taking legal action on both Home Depot and Pizza Hut.

Last night (June 20), the Black Keys went low key by playing a secret gig at the Springwater Supper Club in Nashville, Tenn., where they shot a brand-new music video for their song ‘Little Black Submarines.’

The Black Keys are about to make another appearance on the small screen soon, as the duo will guest star on the Comedy Central hit ‘Workaholics.’ The episode will air on June 19, and according to star Adam DeVine, the Akron, Ohio natives are comedy naturals.

The Black Keys were joined by a special guest for their performance at the 2012 MTV Movie Awards, as Johnny Depp traded guitar licks with frontman Dan Auerbach on ‘Gold On the Ceiling’ and ‘Lonely Boy.’
