The first half of Stone Sour‘s two part concept album ‘House of Gold & Bones Part 1′ is out today (Oct. 22), and the album is available for streaming at AOL Music.

Guitarist Josh Rand says, “‘House of Gold & Bones’ takes everything that’s great about this band and amplifies it. The riffs, the lyrics, the grooves and the songs are like Stone Sour times 10. There’s also heavy stuff that’s like nothing we’ve ever done before . It’s dark as hell and a complete experience from the first track to the last.”

The album should land in the upper echelon of the charts, which is where the first single from ‘House of Gold & Bones Part 1′ is already residing. ‘Absolute Zero‘ is Top 5 on both the Active and Mainstream Rock charts.

In addition to comic books planned to accompany the albums, Stone Sour has come up with intricate packaging for Parts 1 and 2. The packaging from each album will fit together in the shape of a house, although you’ll have to wait until next year to complete the set.

Frontman Corey Taylor also recently stated that he’s interested in creating two films to represent each record, proving that this project is about much more than just the music.

After a couple of hometown shows in Des Moines on Oct. 28 and 29, Stone Sour will embark on a world tour that will take them to five continents.
