Something To Do In Casper, The Hunter Lewis Memorial Fishing Derby [AUDIO]

For the past 10 years, the Fittje family has turned a personal tragedy into a positive experience for Casper's youth by hosting a fishing derby for kids...and this year they took a great thing and made it better.

Anyone who's ever had the privilege of meeting Tyrone or Linda Fittje knows that these are some of the greatest people around, and they take their love for their little angel and share it with everyone in Casper. If you've got a child under the age of 10, make sure you take them to this event...it's an experience they'll remember for the rest of their lives. All proceeds benefit the Hunter Fittje Scholarship Fund. All the info is below, but first, listen to this interview with Tyrone on Rock 96.7:

What: 11th Annual Hunter Lewis Fittje Memorial fishing Derby

When: Saturday, July 16th, 9a-11a (show up early for late registration)

Where:Yesness Park Pond, located on Wyoming Blvd and Poplar street

Who’s Invited: This is an event for children ages 0-9, but with everyone is welcome to attend and take part. Only the kids are eligible for prizes

The event will provide bait. they also have a limited amount of fishing poles they will allow people to use if you don't have them, but they suggest you bring sunscreen, whatever fishing gear you have, and a lawnchair

How Much?: Thanks to the good people at Sportsmen for Fish And Wildlife, this years event is FREE for at least the first 100 participants! Otherwise, $5 entry fee (checks can be payable to the Natrona County Education Foundation. Please put "Hunter Fittje Scholarship Fund" in the memo field)

Why You Should Go: This is a great event that is not only a fundraiser, but also an experience that your child will never forget!
