A snowboarder was injured Sunday in an incident at Hogadon Basin Ski Area, but no one fell from any chairlift as has reportedly been claimed by some on social media.

The snowboarder, who was not identified Monday in a statement from ski area Superintendent Christopher J. Smith, received medical treatment. He was taken from the Chair Line run, beneath the chair lift, in an ambulance, a witness told K2 Radio News.

"Today, Hogadon was made aware of social media posts suggesting that a user fell from the chair lift. This is inaccurate," Smith's statement reads. He goes on to say that the ski area adheres to ANSI and Ski Area Association Protocols to keep lift users safe.

Smith says the ski area closes the chair lift during high wind events, as it did on Feb. 13 when the Prospector lift was closed.
