Sheriff Hunts Missing Man…Remains of Dog Found in N. Platte

UPDATE:  K2 Radio News has learned that the remains of a black Labrador dog have been found in the North Platte River. It is not known, but is assumed this is one of Bernie Bickels dogs. The search continues in Edness Kimball Wilkins State Park.

The Natrona County Sheriff's Department is searching for a missing man.

65-Year-old Bernie Leon Bickels apparently took his two Labrador Retrievers for a walk at Edness Kimball Wilkins State Park, and has not been seen since.

He was last seen at the Big Lots store at 2:45 pm Saturday, and was to have met his daughters later that afternoon. He never arrived.

Bickels is 5'10" and weighs 200 pounds.

At the park, his family found his pickup with a door open, but no sign of Bickels. Sheriff's officers used tracking dogs through the night, but have found nothing so far.
