Rec Center To Host ‘Teen Camp Horse Week’

Ah, summer. The time of year when when kids are excited to be out of school - then consistently annoy their parents with complaints about how bored they are...

While there a few random activities to keep the kids out of trouble, it's hard to find anything that is longer than a day or two. If you'd like a break for a week, check out the below press release from the Casper Rec Center:

Kids ages 12-15 can meet new friends and enjoy cool activities this summer with the Casper Recreation Center’s Teen Camp Horse Week program.  The program will be held Monday, July 28-Thursday, July 31.  Participants will learn all of the basics of horsemanship, including riding, tack, grooming, care, and more.  Campers will go to Reach 4 A Star riding center three days during the week for a three-hour segment each day (1 hour of riding lessons per day, the other two hours they will rotate through other sessions about horses, grooming, and more).  There will also be a walking trip to Washington Park to swim, camp activities and sports, and more.  Session runs Monday-Thursday from 8 am-5 pm.  Lunch and transportation to field trips will be provided by the Natrona County School District.  Registrations must be received at least two weeks prior to the start of the session to ensure minimum participant numbers are met.  Cost:  $182 for CRC members, $194 non-members. 

Teen Camp also includes standard camp activities such as arts and crafts, games, sports, and more.  Registration may be done in person at the Casper Recreation Center, 1801 E 4^th Street, or by phone at 235-8383.  For information on additional summer recreation programs, please visit www.casperwy.gov.
