UPDATE: Police Arrest Casper Re-Entry Center Escapee

A man who escaped from the Casper Re-Entry Center on Friday is back in custody, according to a news release from the Natrona County Sheriff's Office.

Jacob Hair, 30, was located about 2:15 a.m. Monday morning in Casper and Casper police Department took him into custody.

He also was charged with drug possession.

Monday afternoon, Hair heard those two charges during separate initial appearances before Natrona County Circuit Court Judge Brian Christensen.

During the first hearing, Hair said he was from Cheyenne but recently was in Gillette for an escape charge there and is probably on probation. He was working at the Ford Wyoming Center, he added.

Christensen said the escape charge is a felony punishable by up to 10 years imprisonment, and set Hair's bond at $7,500 cash or surety.

During the second hearing for misdemeanor methamphetamine possession, the judge set his bond at $1,000 cash or surety. (The Sheriff's Office said earlier Monday the drug charge was a felony possession amount.)

Hair was participating in the work-release program at the Casper Re-Entry Center, but failed to return at 3 p.m. Thursday, and was reported as an escapee.

Hair was originally convicted of burglary, according to the Sheriff's Office.

The Sheriff's Office news release did not give any details about how or where Hair was located.

The City of Casper and contractors are conducting sewer line maintenance in north Casper for the next several weeks. The work will affect access on K Street to Lincoln Elementary School, the Boys and Girls Clubs of Central Wyoming, residences and businesses. The city urges drivers to exercise caution because portions of K street often will be narrowed to a single lane with the use of signs and portable traffic signals.
