Despite its reputation, summer isn't exactly one of the busiest seasons for music. Most of those great, fabled summer songs you hear about? Many of them really come out in the spring and find their biggest audiences during the sweltering-weather/beach-ready months.

Still, there's always a handful of great releases that make their way out of the studio and into fans' ears in the summer.

And with the first weeks of summer 2014 coming up in June, a few of the year's most anticipated records will be released. Foremost among them: Jack White's second solo album, 'Lazaretto,' his follow-up to 2012's genre-spanning 'Blunderbuss.' From what we've heard of the new LP so far, it promises to be a widescreen take on the artist's blues-rock-garage-whatever hybrid.

New albums by Parquet Courts, Lana Del Rey and the first ever solo record by Pretenders frontwoman Chrissie Hynde are also due in June. Take a look at all the albums making their way to you soon.
