NCSD Continues To Monitor Storm For Thursday School Decision

The Natrona County School District is continuing to monitor the effects of the winter storm before making a decision on whether schools will re-open on Thursday. Classes were canceled Wednesday, March 13th, due to the weather.

NCSD Public Relations Officer Tanya Southerland said they're continuing to monitor the weather and will do so throughout the night. She said they are working in partnership with WDOT, the City of Casper, the National Weather Service, and other agencies.

NCSD transportation and maintenance teams "will be working diligently throughout the night to clear snow from school sidewalks and parking lots and will continuously monitor weather conditions for potential bus transportation impacts," according to Southerland.

Communication on any closures or transportation routes that might be affected will be sent by text and and phone call to parents and guardians by approximately 5:30am.

Southerland notes that texts and phone calls are sent to parents and guardians only in the event of a closure. If busses are delayed or not running regular routes, NCSD Transportation will directly communicate information on affected bus routes to those parents and guardians.
