Myles Kennedy: When Slash Told Me About Guns N’ Roses Reunion [Podcast Preview]
Loudwire Podcast No. 5 is set to drop on Oct. 6 and will feature Alter Bridge’s Myles Kennedy and Mark Tremonti! In this Podcast Preview, Myles reveals when Slash told him that Guns N’ Roses were planning their reunion tour.
Nobody truly believed Axl Rose, Slash and Duff McKagan would reunite “in this lifetime.” However, when the news broke in early 2016, the rock world stood still and bought tickets by the millions once GN’R began booking stadiums. During Myles’ visit to our podcast studio, he spoke about Slash giving him the news and keeping it a secret for months.
“I knew about a year ago,” Myles said. “We were on tour and he brought it up. It’s one of those things I always thought was inevitable, it was just a matter of time and the fan in me was jumping for joy, internally.”
As for keeping the reunion a secret, Myles explained it wasn’t hard to contain. “I just shut the f—k up,” Kennedy laughed. “I don’t think they would have appreciated it. I didn’t really want the wrath of GN’R coming down on me.”
Myles Kennedy and Mark Tremonti spoke all about Alter Bridge’s new album, The Last Hero, the ever-changing landscape of the music industry and debated the greatest guitar duos of all-time in our ‘Rocker vs. Writer’ segment, plus much more! Be sure to catch Episode 5 of the Loudwire Podcast once it drops via YouTube and iTunes on Oct. 6! To pre-order The Last Hero, click here.
