A good Samaritan gesture turned into an overnight ordeal for a Casper man.

John Mark's wife reported he was on Casper Mountain when the snow started falling. As the light was fading, he apparently saw a family climbing the mountain and seeming lost. His wife Chelsea reports he told her he was going to see if they needed help, when his phone went dead.

The Natrona County Sheriff's Office began a search but this morning, Mark turned up at a ranch near the mountain.

He had apparently crashed his truck, and though injured, made his way down the mountain on foot.

He has been taken to a hospital for his injuries.

There are no other reports of anyone else missing.
