Following the sudden departures of drummer Shawn Drover and guitarist Chris Broderick last week, there have many questions about the future of Megadeth. But we now know one thing for certain: Megadeth are not disbanding.

That news comes courtesy of bassist David Ellefson, who participated in an online chat over the weekend with members of the band's Cyber Army fan club. During the chat, Ellefson stated the following:

As you can probably tell by me being here today, we are not disbanding. As of right now, we are looking at all the options, of which there are many. We'll certainly continue working on the new songs for the next record, Hopefully that brings everyone up to speed on things as of today. Thank you for all of your kind words, concerns and support to us.

As for Drover and Broderick leaving the band, Ellefson only said they did so for "personal reasons" and that they did what they felt was "right" for themselves. [via Blabbermouth]

Frontman Dave Mustaine has yet to comment on the band departures, but he has been dealing with the tragic death of his mother-in-law, whose body was found last week after she had gone missing in October.
