A man was arrested Tuesday night after Douglas police officers responded to a report of a man with a gun at a convenience store.

Nathaniel Thompson is being held pending formal charges, according to a news release from the Douglas Police Department.

Officers were sent to Grasslands Market at about 9:45 p.m. Tuesday after police received a call about a man with a gun.

While officers were en route, they were told shots had been fired.

Officers arrived and encountered Thompson, who placed his hands in the air as officers approached. He was put into investigative detention.

Police say the investigation revealed that several rounds from a gun had been fired into a parked vehicle at the convenience store before officers arrived. Thompson was arrested.

Douglas police have not released further information on the circumstances surrounding Thompson's arrest. This story will be updated as more details are made available.

Agencies involved reportedly included the Converse County Sheriff's Office, Wyoming Highway Patrol and Memorial Hospital of Converse County EMS in addition to the Douglas Police Department.
