Kyng To Unleash New Album ‘Burn the Serum’
California rockers Kyng have just announced that they'll be releasing their sophomore album 'Burn the Serum' on April 15 via Razor & Tie. The record's title track is available for streaming via Revolver.
Vocalist/guitarist Eddie Veliz says of the tune, “'Burn the Serum' is one of the best songs that the guys and I have written so far. It's extremely honest in the subject matter and the riff.”
Kyng recently spoke with Loudwire about a variety of subjects. Veliz discussed the new album, saying, "Well if you recall on the first album, it was separated. We had certain songs that were rock songs, then thrash songs and everything was pulled apart. We did what we wanted and on this one we did the same but it’s a bit more refined. It’s a funny discussion that we always have with each other like, 'Man, this album is so much heavier than the first album. It is but is it?' It’s confusing for a sec but it is because the riffs are stomping, there are some big riffs in there."
Veliz continued, "We have a song in there that’s called ‘Big Ugly Me’ and it’s basically a thrash tune but there are vocals on it with two part harmonies. So there’s a lot more heaviness with melodic vocals on top of it."
It was announced earlier this week that Kyng will be part of Seether's Rise Above Fest on May 10. They also have some other festivals on their calendar, including Welcome to Rockville, Carolina Rebellion and Rock on the Range.
