Cheyenne Police are saying that a shooting incident which claimed the life of a 19-year-old man on Saturday may have grown out of a ''road rage" confrontation.

Police spokeswoman Alex Farkas on Monday afternoon released an update on the investigation into the shooting death of the man near the King Soopers grocery store a little after 9 p.m. on Saturday. When police rushed to the scene on a report of shots fired, they found the 19-year-old suffering from gunshot wounds. He later died from his injuries

Another male, who claimed to be the shooter, was detained by police.

Police Think Incident Started With Road Confrontation

Farkas says preliminary information indicates that the shooter and the 19-year-old got into a dispute earlier in the evening. She says statements to police indicate the 19-year-old and three of his friends, traveling in a Chevrolet Cavalier, apparently got into a road road incident with the shooter, who was driving a Ford Raptor.

The vehicles followed each other along Dell Range Boulevard before pulling into the King Soopers parking lot, where the dispute escalated before ending with the shooting.

The release does not identify either the alleged shooter or the man who died. Farkas says the incident remains under investigation by the CPD Detective Bureau. Results of the investigation will be sent to the Laramie County District Attorney's office for possible charges.

2nd Annual Cheyenne Air Show Was AMAIZING!

The event aimed to spark interest in aviation and highlight the need for pilots, featuring aerial performances and aviation displays.

WOW, what a show it was.

The point of these airshows is to help bring Cheyenne's old terminal back as something new. It might take about $10 million to do it.

Imagine it having a restaurant, retail stores, and a place for private pilots to visit from around the country.
