According to a fatality crash summary, Larry Leach was behind the handlebars of a southbound Harley-Davidson when a Dodge Caravan entered the highway from an access point without yielding and he collided with the rear driver's side of the van.

"The motorcycle laid down on the right side and slid along the roadway," the summary reads. "The occupants of the motorcycle separated from the motorcycle."

Leach was not wearing his helmet and died from his injuries.

Another person was also reportedly injured in the crash, presumably Leach's passenger, while four others walked away uninjured.

According to the summary, which lists "other" as possible contributing factors, road conditions were dry and weather conditions were clear at the time of the crash.
