Join Ghost Hunters at Wyoming’s Notorious Frontier Prison in May
Ghastly thrills and ghostly chills await the wary visitor to the notorious Frontier Prison, Wyoming's first state penitentiary. Located on the arid plains of southern Wyoming, the prison looms above the town of Rawlins, a gothic fortress of sandstone and iron. Here, some of the most vicious criminals of the Wild West found their end.
The ghosts of villainous thieves and cattle rustlers are said to stalk these halls. At night, volunteers report hearing footsteps in locked areas of the prison, feeling unseen eyes on their backs, and seeing shadowy figures around corners and hiding in doorways.
Sounds like a walk in the park, right? If encounters with the dead don't phase you, and if you've ever wanted to meet a ghost, here's your chance. Haunted Rooms: America is coming to Rawlins for a night of paranormal investigation open to rookie ghost hunters and haunted hobbyists. Here's what you need to know:
Haunted Rooms America Heads to Rawlins
When you step into the Wyoming Frontier Prison, there's a chance you'll come face to face with the supernatural. In the early days of Wyoming's statehood, these walls contained the perpetrators of grisly murders and shocking crimes. That's exactly what the team from Haunted Rooms America is hoping will happen during their May 10 visit to the infamous prison. The experience allows attendees to join in on the ghost hunt using paranormal equipment and attends group vigils while investigating the grim halls. As a bonus, snacks will be provided (though whether you'll be hungry during the chilling experience is anybody's guess.)
Because of the high-adrenaline nature of this experience, attendees must be 18 years or older. Tickets run $129 per person for the six-hour-long experience.
