A List of 9/11 Rememberence Events Across Wyoming

It's hard to believe that the tragic attack and events of 9/11 happened 25 years ago. Yet, here we are.

For those in Wyoming, there will be remembrances and memorial services across the Cowboy State. Here is a list so you can find one near you.

Jackson Hole Town Square Ceremony: Begins at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, September 11, 2026, on the Town Square with local emergency responders leading a public commemoration (Teton County Alerts).

Snow King Hill Climb (Jackson): Held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, September 11, 2026, at the base of Snow King Mountain, inviting participants to hike a 1,500-foot climb honoring first responders, accompanied by a community barbecue (Teton County Alerts).

Casper 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb: Scheduled for Saturday, September 12, 2026, with check-in at 7:30 a.m. and an opening ceremony at 8:30 a.m. at the Ford Wyoming Center, where participants climb stairs or walk arena laps to represent the 110 stories of the World Trade Center.

Lander 9/11 Ceremony and Recognition: Takes place at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, September 11, 2026, at the Lander Volunteer Fire Department, organized by American Legion Post #33 and VFW Post #954 (City of Lander).

Cheyenne: The 90th Missile Wing hosts an annual 9/11 memorial ceremony and remembrance ruck march on base. To begin at 7:59 a.m. MT. Honor guard presentation of colors, speeches.

Laramie: Held in the morning at 9:00 AM in front of Laramie City Hall (near the corner of Fourth Street and Ivinson Avenue, close to Fire Station 1), featuring an honor guard presentation, a flag ceremony, and commemorative remarks from local fire officials and chaplains. Held in the evening, beginning at 6:00 PM at the University of Wyoming's Arena-Auditorium, where participants symbolically climb the equivalent of 110 stories to honor the fallen emergency workers of September 11, 2001.

Gillette: 69/11 Remembrance Opening Ceremony Date: Friday, September 11, 2026Time: 6:00 p.m. (Race-day registration 4:00–5:30 p.m.) 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb Location: Thunder Basin High School Bolts Stadium Date: Saturday, September 12, 2026 (Registration opens at 7:00 a.m., event starts at 8:00 a.m) Hosted by: CCFD Fire Battalion. Participants ascend bleacher steps or walk the track in honor of first responders who lost their lives. A short opening ceremony precedes the climb. It is free, open to the public, and requires a filled-out waiver.
