Turning these towers into art is a really powerful expression of the city, and we are blessed to have one of the best muralists on the planet to be living in Cheyenne. So let's get this funding raised and get it done!

We have $15,000 left to raise!

This project is a collaborative effort to create an iconic art and cultural landmark in the city, featuring the water towers perched atop Storey Boulevard, visible from many vantage points throughout Cheyenne, including from the main entrances into town

Project partners have come together to plan and implement a mural with a selected artist for this project, envisioning a mural that reflects the local culture, history, and natural environment. This project is expected to be fundraised for and completed in 2025, with a dedication celebration to take place in 2026.

Let's go back to see where this all began.

This project was anticipated to be completed in 2025, following fundraising efforts by a community committee led by an individual citizen. A public reveal and celebration surrounding this project will be held in 2026, as a part of the America 250 celebrations. As the project commences, other events and opportunities will take place to engage the public and get community members involved.

Over the past few decades, America has been transformed by colorful murals covering what were once large, empty, single-color walls.

Most of the murals tell something of the town's history.

Cheyenne, Wyoming, has a project that is painting its water towers and tanks, and the artistry is AMAZING!

Cheyenne Water Tower Murals is a community-driven initiative to transform the city's water tower with a beautiful, inspiring mural.

This project is 100% donation-funded, and they ask for the community's support to make it happen!

It's fascinating watching these artist's work.

Let's take a look at how they lay out these images.

After selecting a photo, they arrive at night and project the image on the tank.

The artists then outline the photo.

From there, it's just a matter of adding color and shading. But, then again, the color and the shading are the hard part.

To help with fundraising, there are events and even chances to meet the artist.

This project is anticipated to be completed this year with fundraising efforts by a community committee -- led by an individual citizen, by the way.

A public reveal and celebration surrounding this project will be held in 2026, as a part of the America 250 celebrations. As the project commences, other events and opportunities will take place to engage the public and get community members involved.
