Wyoming Shrine Bowl Shifting to Sheridan in 2027
Wyoming Shrine Bowl Executive Director Larry Yeradi announced Tuesday that Wyoming's annual all-star football game is moving to Sheridan starting in 2027. Yeradi said in a release, "It gives me great pleasure to announce that the 2027 Wyoming Shrine Bowl will be held at Homer Scott Field in Sheridan, WY." Shrine Bowl Week will run from June 6–12, with the game scheduled to kick off at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 12, 2027.
WYOMING'S HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL ALL-STAR GAME HAS A NEW LOCATION
The first question that comes to mind is: why?
Yeradi explained that, after much consideration and deliberation, both the Kalif and Korein Shriners decided that a change of venue would bring renewed energy to the week of events leading up to the game and to the game day itself.
The director went on to say many thanks to the community members in Sheridan, Big Horn, and Sheridan College, as well as all the Shriners who helped make this happen. A special thank you to Shriner Mike Malone for all his legwork and persistence.
The game started in 1974. The North leads the all-time series, 29-20. There have been three ties. The North has won 11 of the last 13 meetings. No game was played in 2020 due to Covid.
The game features 36 graduating senior players representing the North and South from all five classifications of Wyoming High School Football.
The 2026 Wyoming Shrine Bowl was the 53rd annual and was won by the North, 55-0. That was the largest margin of victory in series history.
