One team debuted, one rejoined, two classes shuffled, and two stayed the same in the latest WyoPreps Coaches and Media Football Poll on Wednesday. The Burns Broncs found their way into the 2A top five. The Laramie Plainsmen moved back into the rankings. That was part of the 4A shuffle. Meanwhile, the Class 1A 9-man top five changed the most.

WYOPREPS COACHES AND MEDIA FOOTBALL POLL IN WEEK 7

A blowout and a close call impacted the 9-man division. The one constant, Rocky Mountain, kept the No. 1 spot for the sixth straight week. The Grizzlies earned 15 of the 18 first-place votes. Saratoga jumped up two spots into second. The Panthers had an impressive 54-6 victory last Friday over Greybull. That dropped the Buffs down to fifth. Pine Bluffs rallied and beat Sundance last Friday night. Still, the Hornets slid to third. The Bulldogs earned more support after the six-point setback against Pine Bluffs. They climbed up to fourth.

The Plainsmen moved back into the 4A top five in fourth. Laramie stopped a two-game skid with an upset of Cheyenne Central last Friday night. That boosted the Plainsmen into fourth. Natrona County was a unanimous No. 1. The Mustangs were followed by Sheridan and Cheyenne East, who were second and third, respectively. The Indians fell to fifth after their loss at Laramie.

The only other change was at the bottom of the 2A poll. Burns earned enough support and grabbed the fifth spot. The Broncs sit second in the East Conference standings. Big Horn kept its position at the top. The Rams got 16 of the 17 first-place votes. Cokeville remained second. Thermopolis was third, and Mountain View stayed fourth.

The other two classes had no changes.

Class 3A was led by Star Valley. The Braves received all 25 first-place votes. Cody followed in second, and Jackson was third. Evanston maintained the fourth spot, despite losses in their last two games. Riverton held onto fifth.

Finally, in 1A 6-man, Burlington remained No. 1. The Huskies earned all 16 first-place votes. That was just the start of unanimous selections in the division. Casper Christian received all the votes for second. The same thing happened for Little Snake River and Encampment. The Rattlers were third, and the Tigers checked in a fourth. Riverside stayed fifth.
