The final weekend in the 2026 Wyoming High School basketball season is here. The 3A and 4A girls’ basketball state championships are in Casper, where two teams will win a state title during the second weekend in March. The Class 3A and 4A girls’ games will be at the Ford Wyoming Center (FWC) and Casper College (CC). Both defending champions can defend their title after qualifying for the state tournament. The defending champions in Class 3A are the Douglas Bearcats, who have officially won seven in a row. The Cheyenne Central Indians will try to repeat in 4A.

Day one action in 3A is at the Ford Wyoming Center. Day two is at Casper College. The consolation and third-place games are at Casper College. The championship is at the Ford Wyoming Center on Saturday, March 14. It is the first of the four big school state championship games.

3A GIRLS STATE TOURNAMENT BRACKET

THURSDAY, MARCH 12:

Final Score: (2W) Lander 52 (3E) Burns 43 - The Tigers' 13-point lead was trimmed to 2 in the 4th quarter, but Lander answered with a 7-0 run to regain control of the game. Then a 10-0 run over the last 3 minutes helped them pull away. Goklish had 13 points to lead 3 Tigers in double figures. Barrett scored a game-high 24 points for the Broncs.

Final Score: (4W) Lovell 57 (1E) Wheatland 48 - The Bulldogs pulled away with a 15-7 third quarter. Ali Walker and Brooklin Clark combined for 36 points and 13 rebounds. Anderson had 19 pts to lead 3 Bulldogs in double figures. Lovell shot 51 percent, including 62.5 percent in the 2nd half. They also had 12 second-chance points.

Final Score: (2E) Douglas 39 (3W) Pinedale 37 - The Bearcats built a 9-point lead in the 2nd half and held off a Wranglers comeback. Pinedale had a chance to tie the game with 5.1 seconds left, but missed a free throw. Douglas makes 1-2 FTs, and the Wranglers didn't get a shot off in the last 2.1 seconds. Leah Ewing led Douglas with 12 points. Sarah Smith added 9 points & 15 rebounds. Alyxis White scored 11 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to lead the Wranglers.

Final Score: (1W) Cody 82 (4E) Buffalo 43 - The Fillies used a 23-point 2nd quarter to pull away, and then added 26 in the 3rd quarter. Grace Hays scored 24 points to lead five Fillies in double figures. Cody scored 18 points off turnovers and had 17 second-chance points. The Fillies shot 55 percent and held the Bison to 29 percent from the floor. Karly Davis scored 22 points to lead Buffalo.

FRIDAY, MARCH 13:

Final Score: Wheatland 55 Burns 33 – Broncs are eliminated - The Bulldogs jumped out to a 19-7 lead and never trailed. Lily Anderson led Wheatland with 19 points. Jencie Franzen had 12 points for Burns.

Final Score: Pinedale 51 Buffalo 48 – Bison are eliminated - Pinedale took the lead on a 3-pointer just before the buzzer at the end of the 3rd quarter and held off Buffalo. Lyxi White led the Wranglers with 23 points. Karly Davis scored 15 points for the Bison.

Final Score: Lander 42 Lovell 21 - semifinal - The Tigers reach the title game for the 1st time since 2006 (last title). They jumped out to a 14-3 lead and never trailed. Daisy Goklish scored a game-high 17 points, and Paisley Hollinghead added 14 points. Lander held Lovell to 19 percent shooting and forced 17 turnovers. They also scored 12 second-chance points. The Bulldogs had 3 players with 5 points apiece.

Final Score: Cody 60 Douglas 27 - semifinal - After building a 26-12 lead at halftime, the Fillies allowed only 4 points to the Bearcats in the 3rd quarter. Hays led Cody with 19 points, while Ball added 15. Cody forced 29 Douglas turnovers, which led to 31 points.

SATURDAY, MARCH 14:

Final Score: Wheatland 60 Pinedale 48 – Consolation Trophy Game - Lily Anderson passes 2,000 points with a game-high 34 points for the Bulldogs. Wheatland took a 19-11 lead after the first quarter and never trailed after that. They shot 41 percent, while Pinedale was under 27 percent.

Final Score: Douglas 38 Lovell 32 – 3rd Place Game - Bearcats got out to a 10-5 lead. They built it to a 9-point advantage in the second, but Lovell never went away. The Bulldogs got within 5, but that's as close as they would get. Sarah Smith scored 15 pts and grabbed 12 rebs for Douglas.

FINAL SCORE: Cody Fillies 53 Lander Tigers 37 – Championship Game - Cody never trailed in the game. They led by as many as 17 points in the 3rd quarter, but Lander pulled within 5 with 2:53 left. The Fillies made a couple of 3's and FT's to ice it. Grace Hays led Cody with 20 points, 8 rebounds, & 7 steals. Ellie Talich added 11 points & 13 rebounds. Cody overcame a 34 percent shooting night and was just 3-21 from deep. Lander shot 38 percent. They were outrebounded 39-22 and committed 22 turnovers. Hayden Goggles led the Tigers with 10 points. For Cody, it was their 2nd title in school history and first since 2023.

4A GIRLS STATE TOURNAMENT BRACKET

THURSDAY, MARCH 12:

Final Score: (2E) Cheyenne Central 57 (3W) Evanston 42 - Central jumped out to a 9-0 lead and never trailed. Evanston pulled within 10 in the 4th quarter, but was outscored 10-5 the rest of the game. Wade & Needham scored 10 points each for the Indians, who scored 30 points off 29 Evanston turnovers. Hiatt had 21 points for the Red Devils.

Final Score: (1W) Green River 45 (4E) Sheridan 38 - OT - The Wolves survive the Broncs. They outscored them 10-3 in the extra session. Isa Vasco scored 23 points to lead all scorers. She scored the last 13 points of the game for GR and had the tying 3-pointer with 10.8 seconds left in regulation. Bilyeu & Erramouspe had 11 pts each for Sheridan.

Final Score: (3E) Thunder Basin 44 (2W) Star Valley 39 - OT - The Bolts outscored the Lady Braves 13-8 in OT. Addy Rouse led 3 TB players in double figures with 18 points. TB was 11-13 at the FT line in OT. The Bolts scored 15 points off 18 SV turnovers. Ambrey Nelson paced the Braves with 9 points and 10 rebounds.

Final Score: (1E) Cheyenne East 63 (4W) Natrona County 22 - The Thunderbirds used a 21-point 2nd quarter to pull away. East had 6 players score between 9 and 12 points. They scored 23 points off 24 NC turnovers, and East shot 54 percent for the game.

FRIDAY, MARCH 13:

Final Score: Sheridan 47 Evanston 34 – Red Devils are eliminated - The Broncs used a 21-8 fourth quarter to pull away from what was a 1-point game after 3 quarters. Wagner led Sheridan with 19 points. Barker paced Evanston with 12 points and 11 rebounds.

Final Score: Star Valley 42 Natrona County 39 – Fillies are eliminated - The Braves rallied from a 7-point deficit in the 3rd quarter. SV was 14-25 at the FT line. McGee & Foster led the Lady Braves with 10 points each. Vance scored 12 points to pace NC.

Final Score: Cheyenne Central 62 Green River 57 - OTsemifinal - Indians get a chance to defend their title. Central went 3-4 in OT, including a huge 3 by Draegert and 2-2 at the FT line. GR was 1-4 in the extra session. Needham and Draegert led Central with 14 pts apiece. Wilson scored a game-high 24 pts for the Wolves. Central shot 49 percent in the game compared to 36 percent for GR.

Final Score: Cheyenne East 57 Thunder Basin 44 – semifinal - T-Birds reach the title game as they pulled away in the 4th quarter, 19-11. Cashlynn Haws had 17 points and 12 rebounds to lead East. Four more had between 8 and 10 points. They held the Bolt to under 30 percent shooting. Addy Rouse led TB with 13 points.

SATURDAY, MARCH 14:

Final Score: Star Valley 49 Sheridan 19 – Consolation Trophy Game - Braves jumped out to an 11-4 lead and did not allow the Broncs to score in double digits in any quarter. They held Sheridan to under 15 percent shooting. Ambrey Nelson led SV with 11 points & 8 rebounds.

Final Score: Green River 59 Thunder Basin 45 – 3rd Place Game - GR never trailed. They jumped out 15-2. TB rallied and tied it twice in the 3rd quarter, but the Wolves pulled away in the 4th. GR shot 45 percent and got 23 points from Isa Vasco. TB was held to 33 percent. Addy Rouse scored 22 pts for the Bolts.

FINAL SCORE: Cheyenne East Thunderbirds 51 Cheyenne Central Indians 36  – Championship Game - The T-Birds jumped out to an 8-1 lead over Central and never trailed. They allowed only 11 points in the 1st half. East shot 35 percent from the floor, including 47 percent in the 2nd half. Cashlynn Haws led the T-Birds with 24 points and 7 rebounds. Mack Hall added 12 points. East outrebounded the Indians 44-35. Central shot just 21 percent for the game. They were 4-22 from 3-point range. Irelyn Hixson led the Indians with 9 points. East won its 7th title in school history and first since 2022.
