The state of live music in Wyoming is incredible. If you look at the number of concerts that have rolled through the state already, and those still on the calendar, the numbers are outstanding.

I mentioned before how impressive the art and music scene is in Wyoming, and both seem to be growing at a rapid pace. It makes sense that the love of music is something that almost all of us share in common.

Maybe the genres or styles of the music you enjoy are different, but we can all agree that a good song can change your mood from the first beat. It doesn't matter what your religious or political beliefs are; music is a universal language.

The way people are affected by listening to or how they embrace music is different. You've heard the phrase "moved by the music," or "that song gives me goosebumps." Music is a tool used to improve mental health, reduce stress, and boost your mood.

I really love the story behind a song. What was the songwriter feeling, or going through, when the song was written? Where did the inspiration come from? I especially love it when I hear those stories directly from the songwriter and hear them play/sing the song. That's one of those experiences that gives me goosebumps.

If you have those "get the goosebumps' experiences because of music, you have a special mental condition that's called Frisson, the French word for shiver.

According to research, Frisson only happens to about 55% of people. When you hear a particular song, lyrics, guitar riff, or chorus, and you get goosebumps, your body suddenly releases dopamine in your brain.

Most people who experience Frisson have higher empathy, openness, emotional sensitivity, and are likely deeply connected.
