Wyoming Residents Are King Of The Cleaning Hill

My wife and I have been watching old episodes of the hit TV series 'Everybody Loves Raymond', which got us thinking about how having family living across the street could be stressful. We try to keep our house clean(ish), so if a surprise visit happened, we wouldn't be too embarrassed.

I was pretty shocked to hear that we're not the only ones who would be ready for a sneak attack visit. The new Home Cleanliness Index by Oxi Fresh reveals that 96% of Wyomingites have their homes prepared for guests. That percentage is good enough for Wyoming to have the best overall total points and finish #1.

The survey asked eleven questions about how often and how they clean, as well as how clean they perceive their home to be.

These are the 11 Questions Asked

1. How clean would you rate your home (1 to 10)?
2. How often do you vacuum carpets and rugs?
3. How often do you deep clean your carpets?
4. How often do you dust your entire house?
5. How often do you clean the bathroom?
6. How often do you mop or clean hard floors?
7. How often do you change your bedding?
8. How often do you clean the kitchen?
9. How would you describe your clutter level?
10. Do you feel proud to have guests over?
11. Do you clean it yourself or hire someone?

The responses to each question were scored out of 10, with some weighted more or less to calculate the final index score based on their direct influence on real-life cleanliness.

Question 1: 10 points maximum
Question 2–8: 20 points maximum each (2x weight)
Question 9: 10 points maximum
Question 10: 5 points maximum (0.5x weight)
Question 11: 15 points maximum (1.5x weight)

Maximum possible score for each state: 180 points

Wyoming's total score is 135.19, which is 7.79 higher than the second-place state of Delaware. If you were to answer these questions, would you have a high score? LET US KNOW HERE
