UW And Buffalo Unite For Amazing Game Day Festivities
The University of Wyoming has renewed its partnership and is heading back to Buffalo, NY, to show support for #17 and the Buffalo Bills again this fall. It's great how UW, Wyoming, and Wyoming fans continue to show support for one of Wyoming's adopted sons, Josh Allen.
This isn't the first time that Buffalo has been invaded by brown and gold. There was a full week of Wyoming fun in New York last fall, designed to raise awareness of UW and let students know that Wyoming is an option for continuing their education.
It's really neat to see so many faithful Wyoming/ Josh Allen fans make the trip. UW's associate vice president for marketing and communications, Chad Baldwin, says the partnership is working.
We had an incredible experience in and around Buffalo last year, and the increase we’ve seen in student applications, confirmed students and overall interest in UW from our efforts in Western New York indicates that something special could be getting started.
As we’ve said before, in addition to our mutual affection for UW’s most famous alum, Josh Allen, the people of Western New York and the Cowboy State share multiple characteristics -- grit, a blue-collar work ethic, a bison on our flags, and both amazing friendliness and a toughness that matches our winter weather. Josh’s experience also shows we are both places where underdogs come to shine and where MVPs are forged.
This year’s UW plans in Buffalo will follow a similar script to last year's, with one significant difference: the Bills are moving into their new $2.2 billion Highmark Stadium. The Alumni Association has acquired about 100 tickets for the game against the Ravens and will make them available for sale, with notifications going directly from the association to its members in the coming days. Pistol Pete and Western Thunder Marching Band members are also scheduled to travel to Buffalo again.
This video shows how much fun everyone had last year. Check it out, and you can get more information at the University of Wyoming website.
