One of the hardest things to understand about baseball is how you can have great momentum, then get shut down. I think that's really what makes baseball, or sports in general, great. Any day, any team, in any position can win.

As we say farewell to the 2026 Casper Spuds, we have to thank the Spuds organization. Not just the players and coaches, but every person who showed up to the ballpark to get the stadium ready, open the ticket box, organize the merch shop, do laundry, serve beer, work concessions, take tickets, slap wristbands on the 21+ fans, interns, play-by-play announcers, clubhouse attendees, host families, make PA announcements, volunteer, and of course, team management.

The Spuds organization makes it look easy, but when you have a team that is passionate about something, that's what they do. Get the job done in a professional manner, and make an experience you can't wait to have again.

Even though the actual season is from the end of May to the beginning of August, behind the scenes, the Casper Spuds team is working year-round to get ready for the next season. Crunching numbers, getting sponsors, scouting players, organizing fundraising, signing coaches, recruiting interns, signing contracts, and lord only knows what other tasks they're doing to provide Casper with an affordable option to watch America's pastime.

It's wild that when the Spuds return to Mike Lansing Field, we'll be celebrating their 5th year in Casper. Even though they haven't won the championship every year, they've been competitive, played fun baseball, and given us fans an exciting opportunity to watch family-friendly baseball.

Having had a chance to work with Paul and Kristi Hack over the last few years, and seeing their dedication to the Casper community, it's great to see the success of Tater Nation. Personally, I get excited every time I get a call, text, or email from them telling me that it's time to start talking Spuds Baseball.

Even though the 2026 season is over, you can already secure your season tickets for 2027. Head to SpudsBaseball.com and pick your seats for another fun summer of Casper Spuds Baseball in 2027.
