Here’s How To Check Out A Film Fest In Casper
If you love hunting in Wyoming, you'll love the film festival coming to Frontier Brewing Company on Thursday, August 8.
Eastmans' Hunting Journal and the Wyoming Chapter of the Dallas Safari Club are putting on the event, which you won't want to miss. You'll have chances to win prizes and see the premiere of two new outdoor films. Rocky Mountain Discount Sports will sponsor activities for the kids, and you won't want to miss the guest speakers.
One of the films features Eastman's 'Beyond The Grid' host Dan Pickar and a backcountry archery elk hunt.
I talked with Dan. He mentioned how tough it is to ensure they get the proper footage and a harvest for a successful film.
In this modern age of hunting, there are a lot of hunters out there and a lot of pressure. So you have to do your homework. Still, no matter how much intel you gather or how much scouting you do, that doesn't mean that the hunt is going to be what you think it should be when you actually get in there and do it. There's that level of luck that you need on all hunts. Sometimes, hunts don't go according to plan, and sometimes, you do walk away with an uncut tag. That's just the reality of it. So the success rate is never 100%
You can hear the full interview with Dan on Wyoming Hookin' and Huntin' Outdoors on Sunday, August 4.
