You know the old saying, "Time flies when you're having fun." Try convincing the Casper Spuds that isn't true.

It seems like it was just yesterday we were hanging with the team at the first meet-n-greet the day before the start of the season at the end of May, and this past Sunday was the season finale for the Spuds.

The Casper Spuds ended the 2025 summer season with a sweep of the Spearfish Sasquatch, but missed the playoffs after coming off a championship season in 2024.

It's not because the Spuds weren't a good team; it's because last season, the Spuds were so good that the other teams in the league knew they had to up their game to compete with the reigning champs.

You always want to see your favorite team (Spuds) win, but you also want to see good, competitive baseball. That's precisely what we got this season.

The Independence League was a tough league, which made every game important, and gave Spuds fans an exciting summer of baseball.

As the season ends, it's bittersweet for a few Spuds players and fans. 2025 was the final time eight players would get the chance to suit up in a Spuds uniform.

Congratulations to these Casper Spuds for their dedication to the team, and good luck in the future:

  • Cooper Hack
  • Brendan Read
  • Levi Graham
  • Ty Vollmar
  • Justin Estrada
  • Kody Clausius
  • Sean Glatts

When you have a team like the Spuds, at the end of every season, there are questions about the team's future. It takes dedication, time, and money to bring a team back year after year.

Luckily for all of the Casper Spuds fans, the question has been answered.

Not only will the Spuds be back in Casper for the summer of 2026, but Paul and Kristi Hack will be purchasing all shares of the team, making the team 100% Casper, Wyoming-owned.

As part of their long-term vision, the Hacks will be working with the city council and local leaders to extend the team's lease at Mike Lansing Field for a minimum five-year term, ensuring that Casper remains home to the Spuds for the foreseeable future.

Paul and Kristi Hack are excited for the future.

We are incredibly grateful for the unwavering support from the Casper community and our amazing fans. This city has embraced the Spuds from day one, and with this opportunity, we’re proud to say the Spuds are here to stay.

This marks an exciting step for the future of the Spuds. With 100% local ownership, we’re more invested than ever in building something great for Casper, both on and off the field.

Congratulations to the Hacks, the Spuds organization, and the city of Casper on another successful season. Here's to the future of Spuds baseball in Casper.
