I want to bring up a subject that may have some of you shaking your heads, but others may agree wholeheartedly with me. How will your kid ever get to ice skate on the Disney on Ice crew if they don't know how to ice skate?

Imagine being at David Street Station when the ice rink opens, and your little Tommy or Suzy is skating circles around all the other kids. Yep, they may be a natural, and you don't even know it, so don't let the deadline pass you by.

Here's how it works.

Classes start at $75. Whether your kids have little to no experience or they've been skating for a while and are ready to axel their way to the next level, there are different levels available.

  • Snowplow Sam Program (ages 4-6): They'll develop coordination and strength to move on the ice.
  • Basic 1 (ages 6 and up): Learn the basics. Standing, falling safely, marching, and basic moves.
  • Basic 2: Learning gliding, swizzles, and stops. They'll need at least Basic 1-level training.
  • Basic 3: For the kiddos who've completed Basic 1 and Basic 2. They'll learn more advanced skating skills.

There are skating school sessions in most cold-weather months, starting in December. The only months without skating sessions are May, June, July, and August, so your kids can be toe-picking their way onto the ice for most of the year.

According to the City of Casper, the sessions will fill up quickly, so hurry to check in on the details.
