In the Movie "Moneyball," Brad Pitt has one of my favorite lines of the movie.

"How can you not be romantic about baseball?"

For many of us, baseball was our first love. Playing in the backyard with your friends and neighbors, pretending to hit a home run to win the World Series, or cramming into the car with your family and heading to a game.

As summer is winding down, most of the baseball around Casper is too. The Casper Spuds season ended at the end of July, and the kids leagues have mostly ended as they're preparing to head back to school.

The only way you can get your baseball fix is to turn on the TV or head to Denver to watch a game. OR, you can take the family to Bases, Burgers, and Blockbusters at Mike Lansing Field on August 22.

The Casper Recreation Division and the Casper Spuds invite you to spend the evening at the baseball field. Not only will you have a chance to be back at the field, but you'll be able to watch a couple of great baseball movies, eat baseball food, play a game of wiffle ball or cornhole, but you'll be able to hang out with all of your family and friends.

The night begins at 7:30 with the first movie, Moneyball. The wiffle ball and cornhole will be going on throughout the evening, so Ma and Pa can relax and watch the movie, and the kids can run around playing.

The second movie of the night, yep, two great baseball movies, will be the CLASSIC...The Sandlot, which will begin around 9 p.m.

The Casper Spuds will have the concession stand open and selling a limited menu of your baseball favorites.
