Wyoming’s August Lineup Is Packed With Fun Activities
Knowing exactly what's going on in all parts of Wyoming is a challenging task, but not impossible. During the summer months, there's always something interesting and exciting to do anywhere in the state.
As summer begins to wind down and you're starting to think about getting the kids back to school, you may be looking for that end-of-summer trip you want to take the family on.
As we begin August, the fun is still out there to be had all across Wyoming. There are fairs, festivals, rodeos, the great duck derby, and airshows that would be perfect getaways.
Travel Wyoming has released its monthly guide of things to do, and the list is long.

- August 8-10: Norwoodstock Music Festival in Ten Sleep
- August 9: The Great Duck Derby and Riverfest in Casper
- August 12: Wyoming Ranch Rodeo Finals in Douglas
- August 12-16: Wyoming State Fair & Rodeo in Douglas
- August 15-16: Art on the Green & River Festival in Green River
- August 15-16: Pepsi WY State Championship BBQ & Bluegrass Festival in Worland
- August 16: 2025 Run with the Horses Marathon/half/10k in Green River
- August 21: War Rodeo in Buffalo
- August 22-24: Native American Weekend in Buffalo
- August 29-Sept 1 (Labor Day Weekend): Mountain Man Rendezvous in Fort Bridger
- August 29-30 (Labor Day Weekend): Meeteetse Annual Labor Day Celebration in Meeteetse.
It's hard to believe that anyone can say there's nothing to do in Wyoming. These fun events don't even count towards the unlimited trails, campgrounds, lakes, rivers, mountains, and other outdoor adventures.
