Wyoming’s Leading Receiver Entering NCAA Transfer Portal
LARAMIE -- The NCAA Transfer Portal doesn't officially open until Jan. 2.
Chris Durr Jr. Monday got a head start.

Wyoming's slot receiver is entering college football's version of free agency after a sophomore season that included 45 catches for 469 yards and four touchdowns, all team highs.
Allen Trieu of 247sports was the first to have the news. Durr has two seasons of eligibility remaining.
Durr, who didn't travel with the team to last Saturday night's season finale in Hawaii, is the first known Cowboy to hit the open market. The Chicago product was reportedly dealing with a concussion.
Proving to be one of Wyoming's top downfield threats as a true freshman, hauling in 31 passes for 348 yards and a score, Durr's 2025 campaign started with a bang in a 10-0 road victory in Akron. The 5-foot-10, 173-pound speedster accounted for 106 yards receiving, including a 35-yard dash into the end zone in the fourth quarter to seal the win.

During a three-week stretch in October, Durr snagged just nine passes for 34 yards. That changed in a hurry against Border War rival Colorado State, when he finished with 67 yards and a touchdown on seven grabs.
"It feels good to just help the team as much as I can," Durr said after that 28-0 win over the Rams. "You know, my coach was right -- I needed to be better. So, just coming into this game, and going into the week last week, I just wanted to work hard as I can and just earn their trust back and prove to them that I could be a person to rely on."
Wyoming's offense struggled mightily this fall, scoring an average of just 16 points per game. The month of November -- four straight losses -- featured only 24 total points, seven of which came via a Jones Thomas interception in Honolulu.
Jay Sawvel has vowed this offseason to fix an offense that saw its coordinator, Jay Johnson, demoted after a Week-7 setback at Air Force.
"There's a couple things, in a big way, that we need to get fixed," Wyoming's head coach said last week. "And first and foremost, we got to score points. I'm so pissed that we're not scoring points. We're going to get that addressed."
Durr caps his two-year tenure on the high plains with 817 receiving yards and five touchdowns. His cousin, Pierre "PJ" Jackson, redshirted this fall during his first year on campus.
Players who enter the portal can return to their previous school, though Sawvel has stated in the past, that is not an option in his program.
