The Human Catapult Is Real (And Completely Nuts)
If skydiving or bungee jumping don't give you a rush, then maybe this is more your speed.
A man named Jason Bell is the genius behind the human catapult, in which people (or gluttons for punishment, your call) are launched like a slingshot.
The principle behind it is relatively simple: it essentially works the same way as a see-saw, hurtling the subject out into the sky in the most hold-your-breath manner possible.
Bell tosses people off a bridge, like he's testing out a new gadget for Dr. Evil. It's utterly mortifying, yet utterly cool at the same time, kind of like dating your boss' daughter. The daredevils who agree to be launched off a bridge wind up in the water below. As scary as it is, they do get to dry off and tell a heck of a story.
