Casper, Wyoming - The Fort Caspar Museum Association announces its spring Lunch & Learn program on Saturday, May 3, 2014, beginning at noon. Desiree Young, Community Development Manager for the Girl Scouts of Montana & Wyoming will present "The History of the Girls Scouts in Montana and Wyoming." This will include a history of Casper Girl Scouts as well as a short fashion show of "Then & Now" Girl Scout uniforms in Wyoming. This lecture is free with the paid lunch or free with paid museum admission. (Reservations are required for lunch and recommended for the lecture as seating is limited.)

Founded in 1912, Girl Scouts is the world's premier leadership organization for girls. In 2008, Girl Scouts of Wyoming merged with Montana forming the largest geographical Girl Scout council in the United States and covering over 245,000 square miles. Its membership numbers place it in the top five GS councils nationwide.

The optional lunch will begin at noon. We are offering a buffet-style meal of fried chicken, sides, desserts, and beverages with an RSVP before May 1st. The cost for lunch is $5.00 for Museum Members and $8.00 for non-members; reserve your space ahead but please plan to pay at the door. The lecture begins at 1:00 pm. Those who choose not to participate in lunch may attend the lecture for free after paying museum admission ($3 for adults; $2 for youth ages 13 to 18 years; and children 12 and under are free). Again, please call the Museum by Thursday, May 1st, to reserve a spot at the lunch and/or the lecture: 235-8462.
