Flagg Ranch…….. Suck!

So my last night of family road trip I decided to splurge. Well I thought any how. I went online and started looking for cool resort style lodging. Horse back riding, cabins, and more, that is what i wanted. So I looked around and found Headwaters Lodge & Cabins At Flagg Ranch. I was so disappointed I had to make it a post on its own. I don't wanna say that I was cheated, but I was. I booked this place because when you go to the website it says they have cabins, which they did. They said Internet access, which they didn't. Also my main reason for booking was that they boasted horse back riding as a main activity, which they didn't. I also asked if they had two room cabins, so my lady and I could have a little alone time after a huge trip in a van with 3 kids. I was lead to believe I had booked the perfect place! I unfortunately was wrong, as it happens. I arrived to what seemed like a neat little lodge area, and entered into a beautiful building with a nice looking restaurant, and a little gift shop, and convenience store. Initially the staff seemed friendly, and I was excited to see my cabin. I was given keys, a map, and I was on my way. The cabin first of all was not two rooms, nor did it have any kind of television, or anything. I can live with that, I have a laptop. I have Netflix! Horror movie night here we come........ except the Internet is broke. Well no worries we can just build a fire tell scary stories, and roast marshmallows tell we explode! Nope........ they said if we wanted a fire pit we would have to tell them exactly what time to what time, and then they could try to section one off for us in the camp ground portion of the area. Conveniently no where near my cabin. Hey still can't get me down, I have horse back rides, my kids will be super happy....... nope! They discontinue their contract with the company. Now I like any one would do complained, and was basically told to damn bad. The woman behind the counter was not only unsympathetic to my plight, but she was down right rude. So at this point I was ready to choke some one. I needed to eat some dinner, and hey they have a cute little restaurant right here. Which is good because my cabin is not equipped for meal preparation. We approached the young man at the entrance, and tell him a table for five please. He looks at me and says, "It is going to be a little bit". "We don't have seating arrangements yet."

Now i would normally be very understanding, except I am standing there looking at a completely empty establishment...... seriously we are the only ones even there. Luckily this was fixed very quickly. As for our meal, a couple of kids burgers, and a salad, plus my burger with soup....... about 70 bucks. The eleven dollar burgers were obviously frozen patties cooked to death, and my ladies eight dollar caesar salad was even less impressive. The soup was however amazing. I wish I could have just ordered lots of soup! The other thing I noticed about this eating establishment was that they hated chicken. I love chicken strips, and was sad to see that it was not a part of there already very limited menu. Any one who knows me knows I am not a big complainer, nor do I usually let things drag me down, but at this point needless to say I was over it all. It is a good thing I carry at least one horror movie with me everywhere I go. I hit the convenience store got some candy, and popcorn, and made it work as best I could. As far as sad kids with no horse rides....... well, Dubois had a great place that hooked em up with an awesome trail ride that I did not have to participate in. Finally giving me a small amount of alone time. Woot! that place was called Crooked Creek Ranch, and after a short time there I realized where I should have booked!
