There seems to be, in this modern world of ours, a distinct lack of true rock and roll heroes. That doesn't mean, however, that they've gone extinct entirely. Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl continues to play the roll of guitar hero, and most recently made a little kid's day by inviting him onstage at a show in Manchester to sing along with "Times Like These." Check it out in the video above.

During the song's breakdown, Grohl noticed a little boy in the audience singing along. He seemed impressed that the kid would know the lyrics to his songs, so when someone -- presumably the boy's parents -- suggested he join Grohl on the stage, the Foo frontman was all about it. He invited the 8-year-old (or as he called him, "little motherf---er") to the stage along with his parents.

He asked the boy if he knew how to sing. When the boy said he didn't, Grohl said, "Me neither." You gotta love his honesty.

Grohl is always up to something interesting, whether it's granting the wish of a dying fan or shredding a guitar solo on top of a bar while doing shots of Jagermeister -- or, in this case, making dreams come true for an 8-year-old fan.

Mr. Grohl, we salute you.
