Dream Theater recently released the DVD 'Live at Luna Park,' and now a new interactive app allows fans to get even deeper into the DT live experience. DreamTheater360° (iOS) was released today (Jan. 9). You can watch a preview video of the app above.

The DreamTheater360° app offers a unique 360 degree interactive experience of the Luna Park show. The first release includes five interactive songs filmed and produced using the Mativision technology, which virtually transports fans directly onto the concert stage.

App users can direct the show by manipulating the multi-camera iOS player, switching from among six different cameras while also being able to rotate camera angles by tapping and dragging, or by using the device’s built-in gyroscope.

In addition to the video and interactive features, the app is loaded with other content as well. There's a biography, discography, continuously updated news and tour information, photos and social media links. More content and updates will be added in the future. It's available in the iOS AppStore for $9.99.

2013 was a big year for Dream Theater. In addition to 'Live at Luna Park,' the band also released a self-titled album. The song 'The Enemy Inside' from that album is one of those nominated for Loudwire's Best Metal Song of 2013.

Dream Theater has a North American tour set to kick off March 20 in Toronto. Guitarist John Petrucci gave Loudwire a preview of the tour: "Obviously, first and foremost it’s about the music. If there wasn’t one single light on in the venue and you closed your eyes, hopefully it would sound really good. But having said that, this time we’re doing ‘an evening with,’ so we have more time to present a longer show."

Petrucci continues, "It’s not theatrical, there are no circus animals or trapezes or anything, but it will be visually interesting and stimulating and all completely tied in with the music. Again, we want to make it one big Dream Theater experience."
