Courtney Love Admits Nirvana’s Upcoming Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Will Be Awkward
Let’s face it, there is no love lost between Courtney Love and Foo Fighters frontman / Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl. In the trailer for her new YouTube Channel, Love recently went as far as asking her public, “Is there anybody on the planet who would be watching this that doesn’t know that Dave Grohl and I don’t get along?” The two have had some very public spats throughout the years, stemming back to the rights held by Love and subsequent use of Nirvana music in the wake of Kurt Cobain’s passing.
With both parties attending the upcoming Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony honoring Nirvana slated for April, it could make for some uncomfortable small talk. In a recent interview with ‘Access Hollywood’ (watch above), Love discussed the situation, sharing, “We're going to go to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and I think we're all sitting at the same table." Asked whether it would be awkward, Love gave a resounding, "Yeah,' but did say she’d say hello to Grohl. So perhaps there’s a chance for some resolution in the future for the two? Doubtful.
Nirvana will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame along with KISS and others during an April 10 ceremony at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y.
In addition to Grohl, the outspoken Love has also had some contentious moments with her 21-year-old daughter Frances Bean throughout the years. When asked about her current relationship with Frances Bean and who is to blame for the very public fighting between the mother and daughter, Love pointed the finger away from herself and directly at lawyers. "She has a trust fund,” she shared. “And trust funds attract lawyers. And lawyers attract problems. And that's just the reality."
