Celebrate Dia De Los Muertos In Cheyenne

Yesterday and today mark Dia de los Muertos or Day of the Dead. The event is observed widely in Mexico and with people of Mexican heritage. The celebration itself is to remember friends and family that have passed on.

I'm not personally of Hispanic descent, but my Catholic mother would attend the celebrations at her church every year and pray. I've always thought that was interesting(especially since she sat in on the Spanish sermons and didn't speak the language). So, when I think of this time of the year, I think of my mother, who I lost last year.

Not trying to bring down the room, I promise. I'm just trying to describe, best I can how important these days are for some.

Cheyenne actually has a few celebrations for Dia de los Muertos this year, and some are already going on.

Dia de los Muertos Celebration 2022

Cheyenne Botanic Garden is celebrating every day, November 1st through the 5th. They'll have lectures on the celebrations, so you can learn more, along with food and dancing.

Family Day: Dia de los Muertos

This Saturday, check out the Wyoming Museum as they'll celebrate Dia de los Muertos. This is a free event.

Black Tooth Brewing Taco Wars

This should be a great event to celebrate and it kicks off tomorrow at 4:30 at Black Tooth. They'll have 5 local food trucks with tacos in the celebration. You can find more information here. They'll also have a new beer release for the celebration.
