Casper’s ‘Bowl For Jason’s Friends’ Brings In 325K [PHOTOS]
About a thousand bowlers and crowds of supporters gathered at El-Mark-O Lanes in Casper last Saturday for 21st Annual Bowl For Jason's Friends event. This is the big fundraiser for the year for Jason's Friends, a Casper foundation that helps support Wyoming families with children who have been diagnosed with cancer or brain or spinal cord tumors.
The path to the action was lined with scores of smiles, rows of pictures of kids who have been helped by Jason's Friends Foundation as they and their families battled their cancer.
Founder and Executive Director Lisa Eades said this year, Bowl For Jason's Friends brought in around $325,000.00, essentially matching last year's amount. Eades thanked all of the volunteers who make the event happen, and the crowds of bowlers who raise the pledges.
"You know, we all do this because we all know how important Jason's Friends is," said Eades, "and what a difference we make in the lives of Wyoming families that have children with cancer."
The Foundation is currently providing financial assistance to some129 Wyoming families, covering expenses such as travel including fuel, lodging, airfare and meals, as well as everyday living expenses so families can concentrate on treatment for their children.
