A Couple weeks ago I ran into Matt Miller, a painter at Salt Creek Classics, at a buddy's  party. We started talking about some of his past projects, and when a particular story came out, his eyes lit up with pride. He started telling me about this old hood his shop had recently done for a the family of a local WWII vet. After hearing his tale, I asked him if he could ship over some photos and breakdown of what's what...here's what he sent...

Leonard "Doc" Hendry, a local war veteran, flew 63 documented missions in WWII and shot down 6 enemy planes in the battle of Midway.   His medals have been donated to the Veterans museum and are on display. This hood had been run over twice and left in a ditch outside Orem Junction for nearly 80 years. This project started out blank and it was Joel McMillan's (a Salt Creek Classics coworker) plan to design it like a fighter plane. We originally thought of painting in all the artwork, then Joel fabricated some real looking exhaust and amazing sheet-metal work then handed it over to me.

It was my idea to find a local war hero to dedicate the scheme to. Then it was also up to me to do the artwork. The hood is now with "Docs" grandson Seth Bentley for the family to have in remembrance. This was such a fun and proud to do project.
