The men and women of the Casper Police Department got a pleasant Valentine's Day surprise from fifth-graders at St. Anthony Tri-Parish Catholic School on Tuesday.

The department received nearly 100 bags filled with snacks and treats so officers can have a bite to eat during their shifts, even if they don't have time to take a lunch break.

Each bag also contained a personal, handwritten note from a student. Generally, the notes thanked officers for their service to the community. At least one note praised officers for 'getting to ride in really cool cars.'

Teacher Tiffany Catellier says she heard about the idea over the weekend and thought it would be a great way for her class to contribute during Random Acts of Kindness Week.
