A Casper man could face up to 75 years in prison for allegedly sexually assaulting an elderly woman with dementia, according to Natrona County District Court records.

Antonio Dee Trujillo, born in 1969, is charged with first- and third-degree sexual assault, and abuse of a vulnerable adult, according to the charging document. First-degree sexual assault is punishable by five to 50 years in prison; second-degree sexual assault is punishable by up to 15 years in prison; and abuse of a vulnerable adult is punishable by up to 10 years in prison.

The case started at 11 p.m. Jan. 20 when a Casper police detective responded to the Wyoming Medical Center where a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner reported abuse of an 80-year-old woman, according to the police affidavit.

The detective interviewed a woman who said Trujillo had been left in charge of the alleged victim for a day.

The woman left her residence with a child to go to a wrestling tournament about 5 a.m. and returned about 8:45 p.m. to find Trujillo in his boxer shorts and passed out drunk on a couch. She told the detective Trujillo never wore just underwear in the house.

The woman saw his pajamas on the floor next to a green night gown, and checked on the alleged victim who was wearing only an adult diaper. The alleged victim was not able to dress herself, according to the affidavit.

The detective interviewed another woman who was with the first woman. The second woman corroborated the first woman's story. The second woman collected the alleged victim's clothing and drove her to the hospital.

Other officers obtained and executed a search warrant and collected clothing, bedding, a bottle of baby oil and other items from the residence.

A police officer took Trujillo to the police station and interviewed him.

Trujillo said he woke up about 9:30 a.m. that day, made breakfast and lunch, bought beer at a liquor store, watched football and fell asleep. He woke up to put the alleged victim in bed and changed her diaper and went to sleep again, he said.

Trujillo said he didn't remember what else that day, but that the alcohol may have affected him.

Police collected biological evidence from Trujillo and then booked him into the Natrona County jail.
