
Casper Hits -25 F, Breaks Record Low for Jan. 5
The first week of 2017 has brought excruciating cold to much of Wyoming, and the temperature in Casper plummeted to a new record low Thursday morning.
The National Weather Service reports that Casper hit -25 F, breaking the previous daily record of -24 F set in 2014.
Tomorrow's record low is -27 F, set in 2010. Dayweather Meteorologist Don Day says we could get close to, or even break, that record.
Things improved considerably by 1 p.m. Thursday, with the temperature hitting 1 F. Wind chill at the Natrona County International Airport was reported at -19 F.
Thursday afternoon could see the temperature all the way up to 3 F, with wind chill values as low as -20 F.
Expect a low around -13 F Thursday night, with wind chill values as low as -35 F.
